Contractors in a warehouse as part of jobs in logistics and supply chain management.

4 things the best supply and logistics jobs have in common

Are you considering jobs in logistics and supply chain management?

If so, there are a several things you’ll need to look out for in your job search! This is because, while no two roles in supply and logistics are the same, there are a few things the absolute best ones have in common that will ensure you have a truly enjoyable and fulfilling career.

Read on to discover what these are in preparation for your search!

The best jobs in logistics and supply chain management:

1. Offer highly competitive rates of pay

One of the first things you should look out for in any supply and logistics role is competitive rates of pay! The best opportunities out there will offer a good sum in exchange for your services and skillset, and this will increase as you take on new responsibilities within your role.

Typically, contract roles will pay more, and on a weekly basis. This is especially likely if you take your career abroad (more on that below). You may even be paid extra towards your travel costs and cost of living!

2. Will take you to some of the world’s best places

Why consider jobs in logistics and supply chain management in your home country when they could take you all over the world?

For example, here at M&E Global, many of the supply and logistics jobs available offer the opportunity to travel to and live in Germany, including Mannheim and Dülmen, or in the Middle East.

This not only means that you’ll have the opportunity to explore a whole new environment and make unforgettable memories, but to make new friends and gain valuable life experience of a different culture – all of which will look fantastic on your CV.

3. Will enable you to develop your skills and access additional opportunities

There are several skills you’ll already need under your belt in order to commence a career in supply and logistics (from problem-solving to organisational), but the best roles will open doors to new skills and career progression opportunities you that you may never have otherwise come across!

In fact, one of our contractors here at M&E Global, Ben, had four promotions in just one year to become a Supply Quality Controller (QC) in Germany. And that’s just one of many examples!

4. Promise that no two days will be the same

Some supply and logistics roles run the risk of becoming repetitive, where you’ll follow the same routine day in, day out. However, the best ones out there are so full of variety that you’ll come into work each day wondering what exciting tasks await you!

As a Forklift Operator, for example, you could find yourself loading and unloading materials in a warehouse one day, and carrying out safety checks the next. And who knows which brilliant places you and your workmates will find yourselves in celebrating the end of a hard day’s work
